Fou Gallery and Chinese Theatre Works are pleased to invite you to a live shadow puppet show (Pi Ying Xi 皮影戏), a demonstration of antique shadow puppet collection and a lecture of the traditional method of performing a shadow show.

When was the last time you saw a live shadow puppet show? Let alone Chinese shadow puppetry. What do you know about shadow theatre? The Shadow Restoration Project of Chinese Theatre Works (CTW) is dedicated to preserve and promote Chinese shadow puppetry, a.k.a. Efforts of this project include collecting and cleaning antique Chinese shadow puppets, properly labeling and categorizing the figures, curating exhibitions using the collection and educate general audience about the arts form, creating new productions based on the collection etc.
