Fou Gallery cordially invites you to join us for a studio art workshop Figure Drawing and Beyond, scheduled for Saturday, September 9th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This workshop will be hosted by instructor and artist Kosuke Kawahara from Artuta Art School, who will guide students in learning essential figure drawing techniques and exploring a variety of creative possibilities. Students are required to bring their own drawing tools such as pencils, erasers, and paper, although the instructor will also provide some materials.

Diverging from traditional practices, Artuta Art School believes in tapping into individuals' inherent artistic talents and encourages students to unleash their inner artists. In this workshop, the use of live models will be set aside. Instead, the instructor will introduce a series of contemporary artworks inspired by the human body. Students will be guided in depicting their own bodies using a hand mirror, observing others, and reconstructing images through recalling bodily movements. Students will also be encouraged to experiment with various drawing techniques, and the instructor will be available throughout the workshop to assist in realizing their ideas. The workshop will conclude with sharing and feedback sessions.

Through this event, attendees will gain an up-close experience of the emotions and techniques artists undergo in the current exhibition Interest in Humanity: Portraits of Yesterday and Today. Over the course of the history of art, artists' depiction of the human body has evolved from realistic to expressive techniques. The ever-changing forms and shapes of the human body have posed challenges in the creative process, prompting artists to introspect and engage in a dialogue with the audience through a unique visual language.

We wholeheartedly welcome students from all backgrounds to participate. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced art enthusiast, you will find an environment in this workshop that suits your learning and creative aspirations. No specific artistic background is required; all you need is curiosity and enthusiasm. Come and join us for this inspiring creative endeavor!

就像“work out”(健身),Artuta通过“art out”来释放你的艺术潜力。
