Sake Set by Chang Liu

$120.00

Sake Set by Chang Liu is a porcelain ensemble that brings together functionality, material expression, and quiet elegance. Comprising a sake carafe and two matching cups, the set is defined by a luminous deep blue celadon glaze that flows across each form in soft, irregular bands. The glaze gathers and drips along the lower edges, creating organic transitions between rich cobalt-blue tones and the exposed porcelain beneath. These fluid markings give the work a sense of movement, as though the glaze itself remains in motion.

Designed for sharing sake and conversation, the set transforms a simple act of serving into a contemplative ritual, celebrating craftsmanship, hospitality, and the beauty of everyday gatherings.

Chang Liu is a San Francisco based ceramist. In her work, the familiar mountains and beloved landscapes of her childhood are reinterpreted on clay, transformed into vessels that carry both memory and quiet echoes of the past. Each piece is wheel-thrown, hand altered and layered with glazes that invite interactions between color, gravity, and texture.
