Lu Zhang is a New York–based artist originally from Xi’an, China. Her practice centers on socially engaged public installations incorporating ceramics and video to create intimate, relational experiences. Through these works, Lu explores the ambiguity of human relationships and examines how personal upbringing and cultural knowledge shape cognition, with particular attention to Chinese diasporic perception. Lu earned an MFA in Fine Arts and an MS in Art History from Pratt Institute, following undergraduate studies in Economics at Xi’an Jiaotong University. She founded the Wildman Club and co-founded the Chinatown Basketball Club.
